Noticing an attribute of something is another one of the four precursors of math concepts. When teachers call attention to an attribute, such as a color or size, children will begin to sort objects into categories and make comparisons. With adult guidance, sorting and classifying through a variety of experiences will naturally progress as the twos are naturally curious about their world!
