March is Women's History Month! For 40 years, this period of observance has been a time to acknowledge women's vital—and yet often overlooked—contributions to all aspects of American history, from the arts, to the sciences, to activism. Women of color and those who are LGBTQ+ have had to work even harder for recognition. We learn about women's history so that we can benefit from the wisdom of those women who have come before us, and we learn about it as a model to girls and women to continue making waves in all sectors of society.
